A Winter Poem by Andrew

Winter is …

Freezing cold
Bears hibernating
Icy grass
Trees naked
Wet mud
Heaters on
Birds finding food
Time to get warm
Fingers numb
People freezing
Very very chilly

Netball by Chanel

Tuesday at Netball by Chanel Room 18
At netball we learn all different
kinds of passes like chest passes,
bounce passes, shoulder passes and overhead passes.
After we do the passes we play a
netball game.

After the game we do zig zag passes.     The picture up the top has  a netball and a netball love heart.

A Winter Poem by Elise

Winter is…

Warm hot chocolate to drink
The sun beaming brightly on the grass
A lovely cool breeze swishing on your chin
Gorgeous frost on the grass
Dressing warmly and snugly
Putting a fire on
Freezing cold it is
Birds searching for food
I like winter!

A Winter Poem by Shavaun

Winter     by Shavaun room 18
Winter is…
The sun beaming on the grass
White frosty snow on the grass
Dressing warmly
Feeling the breeze hit your face
Birds searching for worms
Warm hot chocolate to keep you warm
I like winter!

Cats Should be Banned by Trelise

Cats
I think cats should be banned. There are two sides of cats. Some people think cats shouldn’t be banned, and other people think cats should be banned.

First, cats can bite you and scratch you real hard.

Secondly, cats can kill native birds. Cats bring the native birds inside, and they are really proud, but you aren’t.

Thirdly, cats can break  furniture and other things in the house.

Cats should not be with New Zealand families!

Should We Have Zoos by Thomas

Should We Have Zoos       by Thomas room18

I think we should have zoo’s in New Zealand,

Firstly predators are closer in the wild.

Secondly zoos look after and breed all the animals safely.

Thirdly all the animals are well fed.

Lastly the animals don’t get lonely, because when one dies people keep them company.

That’s why I think zoos are good places to keep animals in New Zealand.

Should People Keep Cats as Pets by Matthew

Cats     by Matthew Room 18

I think people should not have cats.

They might bite your hands if you don’t feed them properly.

Also cats might scratch your furniture.

Cats kill  New Zealand nature like our native birds.

They might run away from your house and annoy your neighbours.

Thats why you should not have cats as pets!

Should We Have Zoos by Daniel

Should We Have Zoos   by Daniel Room 18

I think we should have zoos.

I think we should have zoos because it helps the animals not get extinct.

Animals don’t need to find food as they are fed well by the zoo staff.

Animals can’t hurt people because they are in enclosures.

Hunters can’t shoot them.

It is a safe place for them to breed.

So zoos are wonderful places for animals.

Should We Have Zoos by Azalea

I think we should have zoos. Zoos treat animals in a nice way.

The first reason is that zoos help the animals to make their species grow. They have breeding programmes.

The second reason is that they get more food instead  of having to hunt to catch their own food. The zoo staff give them the right amount of food with a balanced diet.

They rescue animals which are endangered and keep them safe in their zoo.

Zoos treat  animals kindly with respect!

Aricia has written a persuasive story on Cats

Cats

I  Think  people should not keep cats

Cats kill NewZealand nature birds then there will be no more birds.

Cats jump on the curtains sometime.

Sometimes your  cats  might bring a dead bird into the house.

When you play with your cats they might scratch you with their sharp claws.

Cats should be banned from New Zealand!!
